"the longest winter"

It's bizarre. I am finding new context in my life with the change of seasons. The winter has been something of a bad cold, a lingering cough, a dull headache. It exists in such a capacity that it can't be completely ignored, but it won't be immediately attended to. And I was walking home the other afternoon and a yellow flower tilted its headand reminded me, It was all over. Everything ended. No more coat, no more boots, no more extraneous clothing. Just me. Walking home from school. And without being cheesy (although it can't be helped) I finally felt the relief associated with the loss of disappointment.
