the last snow
weeks like wet cars passwith plenty of time
to make their way
from your town to mine
now
that the season has changed
i pull my umbrella back,
but it won't close the way it did
before the wind
bent its metal parts
my hair has gotten wet
walking through streets
where unfamiliar and old intersect
try not to step east of prospect
anymore
when the podium calls
i'm projecting my voice
cause confidence,
is the choice you make
before the show
you referred to today
when you said,
"if we still know eachother then"
it's like you knew
before me
now the trees have grown leaves
for us to stand below
i'll forget you with ease
like winter after the last snow
